A construction worker was killed in McKinney on Thursday, after a partial trench collapse. Another worker was injured in the collapse but is expected to recover.

According to the Collin County Medical examiner’s office, the cause of death was blunt-force injuries. The name of the victim has not been released by authorities.

The worker, a Davis Excavation employee, was killed while working on a wastewater pipeline project for the North Texas Municipal Water District.

The accident is being investigated by federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) officials. The agency can take up to six months to complete its report, according to an OSHA spokeswoman.
