A Woodsboro man was killed when the vehicle he was driving was struck by a train.

The train accident occurred just after 4:00 p.m. on May 14, at County Road 34 and Highway 77, said Robstown Police Department. According to accident reports, Kenneth Cobb, 42, was driving his 1998 BMW eastbound on County Road 34 when he failed to yield for a northbound train.

His vehicle was thrown into a nearby field when the train struck the passenger side of the vehicle.

Cobb was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital where he later died, said Sgt. Albert Stout, with the Robstown Police Department.
