A pickup driver was killed when his truck slammed into the rear of a school bus in Corpus Christi on Tuesday afternoon.

The car accident happened just after 3:00 p.m. in the Flour Bluff section of southeastern Corpus Christi when the truck knifed beneath the bus, according to a Corpus Christi police spokesman.

At the time of the accident, 12 students were aboard the bus, none of which were injured. The bus driver was also uninjured in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash. Officials are working to determine if alcohol or a medical condition were factors. The name of the victim has not been released.
