Six people were sent to the hospital with neck, shoulder and leg injuries following a car accident near Bay Area Fellowship Church yesterday.

According to troopers, the accident happened around 11:00 a.m., when two people driving in a Kia were heading home from church and didn’t see the Durango heading westbound on FM43 and were T-boned.

An elderly woman was trapped inside the vehicle for a short time due to the nature of her injuries. And traffic was diverted for about an hour.

Troopers said all occupants, including young children, were wearing their seatbelts. And airbags deployed in both vehicles.

All the injuries appear to be non-life threatening. DPS Troopers are investigating the accident although Corpus Christi Police responded to the scene, since the accident location was out of the city limits.
