Yamaha Motor Corporation, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling Yamaha All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), because the steering column-support assembly can crack and cause the rider to lose control.
The flaw poses a risk of injury or death to riders and consumers should immediately stop using the ATVs, the CPSC said in a statement.
To this date, the company has received 19 reports of incidents that involved the recalled ATVs. No injuries have been reported.
The CPSC News Release includes all ATV model names and numbers involved with the recall as well as photos of the recalled ATVs.
Consumers should contact their local Yamaha dealer to schedule a free repair. Call Yamaha at (800) 962-7926 or visit their Web site at www.yahama-motor.com.
